International Phone Card

Posted in irish Sim Cards by Admin on April 6, 2012 No Comments yet

A prepaid international phone card is the cheapest and most convenient choice available for making international phone calls. One could use a personal computer and internet but if he and his family or friends do not have much exposure to the computer, this will not prove enough. Fortunately, internet, using voice over IP technology does allow the calling card companies to use the same internet infrastructure to route voice traffic over quite long distances between two phones. These days, the best rates to call between popular destinations are below one cent per minute. when compared to using the long distance plans of a telephone company, or a cell phone account, the international phone card prices are very cheap.

As a consumer, what features can one look for in a calling card? And what fees and costs and should one be aware of? First and foremost one should find an international phone card that offers cheap calls. Simply put, rate offered must be reasonable.

Second, one should be aware of maintenance fees – some cards do have maintenance fees that one should be aware of. Even if one does not use the card, the providers may charge certain amount each month that would make the card lose its value after some time. if one plans to use the card quickly and be done with it, then this might be the right choice. But if one does not know how often he will use his international phone card, then the best thing is to avoid signing up for a card that will charge maintenance fees.

Thirdly, one should check out the rates. International phone cards usually do offer different rates when one calls cell phones. if the phone one is calling to is a cell phone, one needs to know how much he will pay.

Fourthly, one should look for the local access numbers for various areas. Calling cards do provide local access numbers for different cities around the globe. One would typically get a different international phone card for different destinations. it is worth noting that one phone card does not fit all. For example, if one is in the USA and if he is calling China, then the phone card he gets needs to be for these two ends, China and US. One will typically get a list of local access numbers that are in the US. using these numbers, one can make free local calls in the US to connect with his destination in China.

Selling Prepaid Phone Cards – How Lucrative Is It?

Posted in irish Sim Cards by Admin on March 30, 2012 No Comments yet

A lot of individuals today wish they could start their own businesses. Selling prepaid phone cards would make a nice start to a viable business proposition. Getting into this business should be quite easy and could convert your dreams into reality. however, there is a very wide gap between truth and fiction. Your goals, whatever the may be, can only be achieved with meticulous planning.

As a home-based, online or standard entrepreneur, you will need to have a plan to avoid pitfalls, to achieve your goals, and to establish a profitable business venture. as a phone card seller, you need to create a viable business plan to avoid stumbling blocks, achieve your goals, and build a profitable home business, such as selling prepaid phone cards.

Find Out what Services Your Distributor Would Offer

Before you start selling, it’s important to inquire from your service provider if they provide customizable business management, or web-based platforms to the wholesale agents, where you could:

- Set your own rates for their customers.

- create different rate plans with different billing increments (rounding to seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute etc.), impose connection and disconnection charges, monthly fees and other parameters. Check if billing can be done in a local currency.

- Credit and charge amounts to/from accounts

- Configure postpaid or prepaid billing types for the customers

- View the billing and errors for each account

- Configure speed dial numbers or services for the customers

- Generate pin codes for calling cards

The Mechanism of Prepaid Phone Cards

Prospective retailers should have a wider grasp of the business they are going into. They should know that prepaid phone cards come in different dollar denominations, or face values, which are often between $5, $10 or $25 per card. They may also be packaged in minutes, such as 30, 60, or 90 minutes per card.

The cards available often charge different per-minute rates. Before you sell cards, ask your distributor the details about how many minutes of calling time in the cards. with some cards, when you buy more minutes, you get a better per-minute price. Instead of minutes, some operators indicate how many units are on the card.

A unit equals one minute calling time for calls placed within the continental United States. on calls from territories like Puerto Rico and Guam and to other countries, you may be charged more than one unit for every minute you are on the phone. Knowing these details helps in properly informing the buying public about the characteristics of prepaid call cards.

Phone Cards use VoIP Technology

The main reason why phone cards are able offer very affordable rates to call local or overseas is because of the unique technology used. Service providers selling phone cards use a combination of VoIP (Voice over IP) and regular lines to get a fairly good balance between call quality and low prices. in addition, since the cards are pre-paid, which means you pay in advance for the specified talk time, other charges are reduced, like the ones for collection charges or debt retrieval.

Which SIM Cards Work For the China Version of the iPhone 3GS?

Posted in irish Sim Cards by Admin on December 5, 2011 No Comments yet

I’ve begun to get a lot of questions about the Chinese version of the iPhone 3GS. One of the more common questions has to do with which SIM cards or carriers work well with this phone and are also inexpensive. after all, what is the point of buying a clone when you can’t take advantage of the cheapest plan possible? So, in the following article, I’ll tell you which plans and SIM cards work with this clone.

Use GSM, not CDMA Or IDEN: these are different technologies that the networks use today. Carriers that use GSM use SIM cards. these are carriers like AT&T, T Mobile, Fido, and Cingular. CDMA and IDEN don’t use SIM cards. You will typically use the phone’s identifying number to transfer the information. Examples of CDMA are carriers like Sprint, Virgin Mobile, and Verizon. an example of IDEN is Nextel. The China version of the iPhone 3GS uses GSM like all of the other clones. this doesn’t mean that you’re limited to a contract carrier though.

Any GSM SIMs Are Fair Game: Sometimes when I give people the types of carries that will work, they will say something like well, I thought you could use pay as you go or prepaid with these phones. You still can. almost every carrier that I know of offers pre paid or pay as you go options that don’t require a contract of commitment. Go Phone and T Mobile to Go are just a few examples. and most of these companies also have set monthly plans that do not require a commitment either.

And, there are many pre paid cards that are not too hard to find that come from less known carriers but work just as well. often with these, they will come with unlimited talk, text, and web for 30 days or so. when they run out, you just renew or buy another card. You can sometimes get all this for $20 – $30.

Keep in mind too, that you have two slots on this phone. this is so useful for keeping costs down because often people will shy away from the pre paid unlimited cards for the fear of losing their phone number. this doesn’t need to be a concern if you keep a slot in which to receive calls and texts and another for either data or for your outgoing calls and texts. this way, you’re mostly using the cheaper minutes, texts, and web, but you still have a way to receive calls on your regular phone number.

Finally, hopefully it goes without saying that only activated cards will work. Sometimes, I actually have people email me who say that they can’t get their card to work. and we’ll trouble shoot until we finally figure out that the card has not yet been activated or has been installed backward.

SIM Card – The Brain of the Cell Phone

Posted in irish Sim Cards by Admin on November 24, 2011 No Comments yet

Cell phones are becoming increasingly popular due to many reasons. Today, you can find it in hands of a child as well as an old person. The reason behind its popularity is that they can be taken anywhere as they are portable, they are a good way of staying in touch with other people by mean of calls and SMS (short messaging service), and they have many other functions such as internet and camera, and much more. The old cell devices were big and did not have many functions as well. But now, experts are trying their best to give maximum functions in just one device. Now, the cell phones are launched in different styles, models, designs and colors which suit every person. some are just for style while some are for work and business.

Cell phones have become an important part of everyone’s life, but to make them work, a SIM Card is required. some mobiles do not need it but the GSM mobile phones require them to function. SIM stands for Subscriber Identity Module. it is a very small microchip which is almost the size of a stamp that is required for posting something. In the cell phone, you can find it or place it beneath the battery of the cell phone. In a SIM, you can store all your important details such as contact numbers of different people. This way you can buy your new cell and simply put the SIM in it without losing the data.

The size of SIM varies. They come in three sizes. one size is the same size as a credit card, one has a thickness of 25 mm and 15 mm width while the third one is chamfered. Chamfered SIM is more popular and used more because they prevent the misinsertion of SIM in the required unit for the mobile device to work. The two SIM of smaller sizes comes attached in a card of credit card size which can be used in bigger devices. if it is not used in bigger devices but used in simple cell phones, then the SIM is attached to the card by small links which can be broken easily to take off the SIM and use it in the cell phone.

Some cell phones do not require a SIM card. They are specially made in such a way which has space for memory. In these mobile phones, you use special digit access ‘NAM’ for access to the memory. Once you have access to it, you can use any information stored there or even store new information. for security and for data not to be lost somehow, Service Provider puts a special lock on it, known as MSL (Master Subsidiary Lock).

There are also some cellular devices which have the capability of containing two SIM cards. This way the person does not have to keep two cell phones for two SIM cards. But naturally, they are more expensive than the normal cell phones. so whenever you go to the market to buy a cell phone, make sure to search around so you can have the best one in your hand.

Making Free Telephone Calls

Posted in irish Sim Cards by Admin on November 22, 2011 No Comments yet

It’s true. using a computer connected to the Internet, you really can make free calls. what type of equipment you’ll need depends on what type of program you end up using. usually, these programs enable you to make calls directly from your computer to a real telephone. In that case, you don’t even need to have a telephone yourself Of course, you will need a headset (or speakers) and some type of microphone. Often, headsets for this purpose are sold with microphones attached. on the other hand, some of these programs enable you to make telephone calls from one real telephone to another. Obviously, if you’re using one of those, then you’re going to need to have a telephone of your own on your end of that conversation.

So far, we’ve been examining the need to make calls to (or from) actual telephones. sometimes, you may not need to do this. for example, you may only need to call from one PC to another, but still be able to communicate with your voice. this is called PC to PC calling. there are a number of programs available on the market that can handle this particular application for you just fine. Skype, Yahoo Messenger, and Windows Live Messenger are a few of the more popular options for this type of call. as long as the person (or people) you’re trying to call has (have) the same software installed on their computer, and running at the time you call them, you’ll have no problem. most people that use this type of software for this purpose simply leave it running all the time.

Some Words of Warning

We do have some words of caution for you about making free calls over the Internet. one of these is that 911 service is not going to work for you. if you need to be able to make 911 calls, we suggest using your cell phone, a land line, or a VoIP service that’s approved for 911 calls. also, free calls are usually limited to the United States and Canada, though there are some opportunities out there that will enable you to make a free international call. this is obviously something you’re going to want to be aware of if you think you might ever need to do that. Of course, if your calling needs are going to be entirely domestic, then this is nothing to worry about. hopefully, you’ll be able to find exactly the solution to fit your needs perfectly.

In 1975 a vending manufacturing company was the first to produce phone card. the first prepaid calling card was put by Italian company in the market in 1976.

These calling cards are made from a magnetic thin strip. they made this magnetic thin strip to replace coin payphone because this coin pay phone usually destroyed, vandalize and stolen. they change this magnetic thin strip because it usually jammed the machine. With the modern technology this magnetic strip was improved and more convenient to use. these are the magstripe we used today.

These prepaid calling cards are similar to credit card appearance. you can use them in long distance, domestic and international call. Do I need an international SIM Card for traveling abroad with my T-Mobile phone?

Posted in irish Sim Cards by Admin on August 12, 2011 No Comments yet

I am traveling abroad to Costa Rica, and I want to use my T-Mobile phone. will I need:
a. an unlocked phone?
b. an international SIM card?

Also, if I do need an international SIM card, will I be able to get it once I am in Costa Rica, or do I have to buy it here (in the States)?

Yes, you would need your phone to be un-locked to use it abroad (it should be a tri-band or a quad-band phone). You can use such a phone with any International SIM card.
You can try companies like RebelFone, to buy an International SIM & un-locked phone even before you leave States. Which means you will get your International number before you leave + you pay in your local USD.
